Here at Son Julia Country House & Spa we believe it is important to help our loyal guests plan the very best holiday in Majorca and that’s why we have put together our guide on how to enjoy the best golf holiday in Europe while visiting one of the most magical destinations on the Mediterranean.

When to visit?

When is the best time to visit the island for those wanting to enjoy the stunning golf courses in Majorca is an important question and it very much depends on your personal preference. However generally the busiest months on the golfing greens are the Spring and Autumn months with September and October offering off peak prices and optimum temperatures for a round of golf. Check out the 2018 golf package here at Son Julia and get the best offers here on our official website.

Where to play?

Although there are 23 wonderful golf courses to choose from on the island of Majorca, here at our boutique hotel in Llucmajor we recommend spending most of your time at the picturesque and state of the art courses of Son Vida, Son Muntaner, Son Quint and Maioris. All located within a convenient distance from Palma and our 5-star hotel, we can even arrange private transport to and from these top golf courses in Majorca.

Son Vida

This first golf course in Majorca, this traditional but technical golf course located near the city of Palma features 18 holes, which includes a spectacular par 5 on the final hole. Many world class players have made their way through this course and many more will hone their skills on the challenging design. So come and test your skills on one of the few golf courses to have ever held two European Tournaments (1990 & 1994).

Son Quint

From the first golf course to the newest golf course in Majorca; Son Quint is a more open and extensive course that was opened in 2007. There are many aspects to enjoy about this course, such as holes 8 and 17, where you have unrivalled views of the imposing Palma Cathedral. Definitely a worthy addition to the golf courses on Majorca, this testing course is also located very close to the city of palma.

Son Muntaner

Carefully designed and perfectly maintained this golf course is as important to golfers who come to test themselves on its 18 holes as it is to Majorca and the environment.  Here at Son Muntaner the EMAS Certification has also been renewed which is an important distinction related to environmental management and on the second round of this course you will find the oldest millennial olive tree in Majorca called Na Capitana. As well as the course, you will also find a pitching area, driving range and the excellent Son Muntaner Restaurant, all located just outside of the centre of Palma.

After the last hole

After finding yourself close to the city of Palma we recommend that you cool down with a refreshing drink in the lively neighbourhood of Santa Catalina, which is an area located to the west of central Palma. Here you will find a plethora of bars and restaurants to choose from which offer the perfect places to relax after a competitive round of 18. LAB Cocktail Bar offers a choice of 250 spirits and liqueurs including 45 different types of gin. Enjoy food, drinks or even bartending courses in the heart of Palma’s famous nightlife. Alternatively if you’d prefer to take advantage of our private transfers to and from your hotel and would prefer to be a little closer to your luxurious hotel suite then you can enjoy the hotel’s very own Apaganto Bistro which boasts a wide selection of drinks and snacks and our very own stunning terrace.

Make sure you enjoy a holiday in Majorca with Son Julia as soon as you can because next month in November our hotel will be closing for a couple of months off in order to come back, new and improved for your 2019 holidays. Alternatively book now your 2019 holidays and receive an incredible 15% discount, meaning you can experience this unforgettable holiday destination for less.
